Sally's speech to Jean Gale for her 100th birthday celebration... 'Good afternoon, everyone. Today we are here to celebrate a truly remarkable lady - 100 years young! A hundred years is an incredible achievement, but if you know Jean, you’ll know that she hasn’t let the years stop her from doing what she does best - laughing! She has the most infectious laugh. In fact, you don’t even need to know what’s funny - once she starts laughing, you can’t help but join in! Jean, your laughter, your warmth, and your wonderful spirit have brought so much happiness to the people around you. You have lived through a century of memories, changes, challenges and celebrations, and somehow you’ve managed to keep that fabulous sense of humour throughout it all. So today, we raise a glass to you - to 100 wonderful years, to all the memories you’ve created, and to many more moments filled with laughter. Happy 100th birthday, Jean. Keep laughing, keep smiling, and most importantly, keep being you. Happy birthday!' By Sally Renshaw-Hubbard (Activities Manager), 17th September 2026
